Our forming and sizing unit utilizes a combination of FF forming and FFX forming techniques to produce steel pipes through HF induction welding. The heating method employs either HF induction or contact welding, where steel pipe fed into the mill is formed into pipe profile by forming rolls.
Through the skin effect and proximity effect of high frequency current, induced electricity is concentrated onto the bonding surface of the pipe profile fringe to rapidly heat it to welding temperature. Pressure welding is completed when pipe fringes are squeezed together by squeezing rolls. After normalizing, cooling, sizing and primary straightening, steel pipes of desired dimensions are produced.
